Marley Tuesday
Last thought before falling asleep last night was the sudden realization it was Monday. So happy Family day everyone! And here’s a clever Marley picture for you…
Marley was good enough to come along with Mother and I on Friday to the ER. I was coughing up all sorts of nonsense and felt like pickled death so Mother thought it was best to get checked out. After a four hour wait I was checked out and got an x-ray…no pneumonia! Hooray! I was so concerned the dreaded P was back. But I did have bronchitis which started with the flu and now has plateaued to a head cold and disgusting cough.
One of those real fancy ones that at the very ass end of the cough sounds like I am about to vomit.
We were forced to wait in the respiratory illness waiting room, the dreaded leper room. The mere sight of me, still masked, throwing away a kleenex in to the waste bin by the open door to the regular waiting area, struck fear in those non-respiratory patrons hearts. Not as much as the women who came in and loudly informed the triage nurses that she could not wait because she would surely vomit because she was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo ill.
What a hoe. She had to wait. Just like everyone else. Eye roll.
Marley is High
Not in that sense. High on life maybe. Or bananas.
This is Marley enjoying a latte at the Highline park in NYC.
Meowers brought us here. She is very in to design and architecture and read about this park. I would have never found it wandering on my own but am super glad I was able to experience it. We walked from start to finish, a moderately long journey but so worth it. It is stunning. Like literally just amazing green-space and so unique and comfortable and interesting, beautifully crafted from re-purposed materials. A marvel of design.
I just adore it!
Wouldn’t this be a lovely renovation for our dear Gardiner Expressway? (I know the logistics of detouring all that traffic straight to the downtown core would be hellish but really, this is why we have city planners. Get on it people!)
Marley Vs. NYC Subway
It’s Marley Monday! Still sharing the fruits of Marley hits the Big Apple.
Marley, Meowers and I really grabbed the bull by the horns and bought Metrocards for our NYC trip. Cheap and cheerful and seriously the best way to get around the city. For some pre-trip preparation I suggest you read this helpful article. It’s takes a little getting used to but thankfully Meowers has an excellent directional sense. Also, New Yorkers are probably the most friendly and helpful people I have found in the world…we even ran in to a homeless guy helping people navigate.
Monkey at Tiffanys
For the past few months Marley, the stuffed monkey pictured above has been a constant companion. Let’s face it, it’s fun to get the monkey in to trouble and photographically document his adventures. He loved NYC, Tiffanys windows, all decked out for the holiday in elaborate glamour, being one of his favourite things. While I was taking this picture two elderly women strolled up beside me and remarked how adorable it was that someone left that cute little Monkey gazing in the window. When I owned up to owning Marley they asked if I was on a school trip and/or writing a book. Being typically too honest for my own good all I replied with was…it’s just a monkey I really like.
They smiled and nodded.
Welcome to the first Marley the Monkey Monday. You get one picture of the Monkey each week. I already owe you two more, you’ll get them I assure you!
